School
Each course I've taken now has its own page (notes, extra
links, helpful sites, etc.). When I'm done with whatever course I've completed I will no longer update that particular course page.
Also please note I've gotten asked is there any more of my notes, answers for SAQ's, etc. that aren't on my web site.
Everything I have is here and I do not plan on putting notes I have written by hand into electronic format so please do not ask. I have to have a life too!
Plus I'm not here to do your school work!
NOTE:
If anyone sends me an e-mail asking me for my TMA's or
answers to any of the TMA's or CMA's your e-mail address and anything
you have written me will be forwarded to my OU Regional
Office. I will not tolerate anyone asking me for answers
to any TMA/CMA! This includes such reasons as: comparing
answers prior to a TMA submission, 'reference', or any
LAME excuse I get. I know when TMA/CMA's are generally due
an no one will EVER get a FULL TMA from me! I am serious that if I continue to get harassing
e-mails I will pull this part of my web site for good. A
few bad apples will spoil it for the rest of those who are
only trying to increase their knowledge. Enough
said.
My school is with the Open
University. It is based on the home study approach and so far that seems to work for me. The university is open to anyone who wishes to learn. There is no entry level exams, etc., but
I'm told they mark very hard (and can confirm they do!) and their degrees are very respected within the UK. I suppose we'll see once I'm done! I enjoy my studies however, I'm sure like most people the OU tends to take over your life!
Course for 2000
T171 - You, Your Computer and the Net. It is their introductory course and I found it very interesting but equally frustrating as well. I had to develop and expand my learning skills and also work closely with HTML. I'm not that great at the moment but I'm venturing out more and more each day! Did I mention I passed the course?! =)
Courses for 2001
MU120 - Open Mathematics and
T172 - Working with Our Environment: Technology for a Sustainable Future. Again introductory courses but my interest in them is great so I'm taking them.
I'm wondering if I took on too much - maybe you should ask me in October?! Did I mention I passed the
courses?! =)
Course for 2002
T209 - Information and Communication Technologies: People and Interactions. It's a first year presentation, which should make for a very interesting year! Done
and dusted and passed!
Course for 2003
T305
- Digital Communications is the winner. What's up with all the technology courses? =)
I'll tell you - it for a BSc
(Honours) Technology degree. Oh yeah....those little
initials at the end of your name. Oh yeah, I'm FINALLY
finished with the course and have PASSED! Courses for 2004
T205
- Systems Thinking: Principles and Practices along with the
summer school of TXR248
- Experiences Systems. I'm going to be on the 24th of
July session for the summer school and really can't wait to
meet all the people who are going to be there - it should be a
lot of fun! I also did during the fall two ten point
courses
T185 and U120
(no longer being offered it seems).
Course for 2005
T306
- Managing Complexity: A systems approach. This is my
last course and what is there is there - much of it was done
by hand and not much was/is in electronical format.
Writing for the OU - I'll try and put some helpful papers and such that I've gathered that will help you get into the OU way of thinking. There isn't much there at the moment but check back soon!
Want to know what this First Class stuff is all about? The go to
this site and find out. There is also a lot of helpful advise here on
Sarah's web
site. Replicating sounds rather hard to do but once you've
gotten the hang of it you'll wonder why you took so long to migrate to it. Sorry folks, First Class is only available to Open University students and tutors only.
Bookmarks for the OU
I've also edited my bookmark file and have put some of the sites I've found useful
here if you like. Let me know
(e-mail address on index
page) of other sites you find useful and I'll add them!
