My Rants

OK so rants might not be new but maybe they will make you feel 'Hey I'm not the only one!' If so then that's good. If you care to show a different view then write me (e-mail address on index page) and I'll post it. Or maybe you have a suggestion for a rant? Let me know and if I have an opinion (I always have an opinion!) on it I'll write something.

Please note these are my own opinions and might be typed in the heat of a moment when I sit and try to get out all my frustrations. Take it with a grain of salt and also try to see it from my point of view. Perhaps we all can learn something?

Wanker radar...rides again

What is it lately - the planets in crap alignment?  My pits smell?  WHAT?  I am calling this wanker radar because I seem to find all the jerks going.

OK - background to the story.  I've lately been selling some of my stuff on eBay that I no longer want.  I figured I could gather enough money to go back home for a nice holiday and see my new niece who is going to be two in July.  But alas that dream is going to remain just that a DREAM if the past two weeks are anything to go by.

So off to eBay I trundle and with my nice pictures, beautiful descriptions and great HTML and post my lovely purses for someone else to enjoy.  I figured I had my fun and someone else should now enjoy them.  But all I have for my trouble is wanker radar.  You see I get these American wankers (yes since I'm American - I can call them that!) who bid on my UK GBP auctions and never realise - hey its a different currency!  How fresh - Americans who think nothing else exists other than their sorry butts (you know the word but I'm trying to be PG here!)!  Not often surprising when you hear of the usual 'American' stereotypes that people often have of us.  But you know - they aren't there for nothing.

I don't understand how you can enter an auction - look at the item, read the description and then bid on something without knowing how much it will cost you?  I look at everything and if unsure I write the seller for further questions.  If I lose the auction so what?  There is another one right around the corner - there always is trust me.

What galls me is that one buyer didn't realise post-close of auction that it was in GBP.  She bid two hours after my auction went live and allowed it to close 7 days later.  She had to see the bid when placing it - that it equates to xyz dollars.  But if that wasn't enough wasn't it glaringly obvious in My eBay screen?  As you can see from my screen shots taken when I bid on a dollar auction I get it converted to my own currency.  The reverse happens on the US site - and don't tell me different because I was originally registered there - I'm smarter than these wankers give me credit for!

I mean I cannot believe you look at this daily - as the two wankers that happen to find my auctions were HUGE bidders on over 50+ items in the past month or so.  So you mean to tell me you look at the screen but cannot read?  Oh no, you don't comprehend - that's it!  And why can you not comprehend?  Because you are STUPID!

So what do you think - do you love or hate eBay?  I am not going to stop trading or buying but it sure will make me very leery of buyers that's for sure!  What is your view?  Rant over - I feel better do you? Let me know (e-mail address on index page)  if you have a different view.
